When this service can help
Jetting can be considered where an external drain is restricted by accumulated material or needs cleaning before inspection. Slow flow, repeated build-up and visible deposits can prompt an assessment. It is not automatically the answer to every blocked fixture, particularly where small or fragile pipework needs a different method.
Common causes
Grease, silt and other debris can accumulate along drain runs and restrict the available space for flow. A drain with a damaged joint or root ingress may catch material as well. Cleaning addresses suitable deposits; it does not repair the underlying structure or remove the need to understand why accumulation is recurring.
How we solve it
We review the access points and the apparent drainage route before using jetting equipment. Pipe size, condition and the type of restriction affect how we work. Existing CCTV information can be helpful. Where the condition is uncertain, the engineer assesses the appropriate sequence of clearance and inspection rather than using pressure indiscriminately. Water is delivered through a hose and suitable nozzle to work on the restriction and move loosened material towards accessible collection points where appropriate. The process is adapted to the job. Following cleaning, accessible flow is checked and CCTV can be used where included in the agreed scope to examine the pipe more closely.
